After watching the Queens Gambit, I was inspired, just a straighforward head on shot, which is quite unusual for me and really tried to push the colours and highlights. I found that softening the edges much enhanced the portrait and gave it a little more of a painterly look. I am still not quite happy with the hands and also some parts of the face are a little too blurry, but I might sneakily retrospectively come back and amend at some stage.
